Covington, KY- The recently opened Molly Malone’s of Covington has announced that it has secured the rights to air the Rugby World Cup with games starting on September 7, 2007. Located at 112 E. Fourth Street in Covington, Kentucky, Molly Malone’s is a provider of the Setanta Sports Channel, which carries live football, rugby, hurling and other games from around the world. The Irish Pub and Restaurant has established a separate agreement with Setanta to carry the Rugby World Cup live in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region. The 2007 Rugby World Cup is the sixth Rugby World Cup and will be hosted by France. The tournament will kick-off on September 7 when France plays Argentina and end with the final game on October 20.
With 20 competing nations and 48 matches, the Rugby World Cup is one of the largest international sporting competitions in the world— being third only to the Olympics and the Soccer World Cup. The favorite team this year is a continual power in international rugby, the New Zealand All Blacks.
